lose any weight yet?

Curious to know is anybody training for the marathon for the purpose of losing weight? If yes, is it working? If no, why?

  1. NO! And it’s pretty disappointing I must say. I am a 46 yr old female training for my first 1/2 and I’ve noticed all my pants getting tighter, not looser and I’ve gained a few pounds. I admit I am more hungry (definitely more tired) but I thought all the miles I have been putting in (much more than I usually run) would have a positive effect on my jeans. Apparently not:(

  2. Oh ya. 25 lbs down since start of Jan 2010. I was hit by a car while cycling last summer and was out of commission for months. With no activity the weight started piling on. In January I was able to start training and the weight has been melting away.
